Gratsägen - Stairsaw

As it seems Gratsägen (Saws to cut the grooves for sliding dovetails) are not longer made by industry. So I was asked. This took much longer than I anticipated. I made a pair to have a back up.

 Afte a few years I made a second spline saw. 

1,6mm wide kerf vor splines to connect mitred box sides.

stair saw - Gratsäge

This is a gratsäge, to make the groove for a sliding dovetail. Stairsaw might be a translation but not sure about that.

Gents saw plum and Gents Azebiki

Two saws we made in cooperation with Alex. A gents saw as known in german plum and a Gents saw style Azebiki with a 3 " blade  13 tpi.

Zwei Sägen, die wir zusammen mit Alex gemacht haben. EIne normale Feinsäge in Zwetschge und eine Mischung aus Fein und Einstichsäge mit 80mm Blat und 13 tpi, die auf Zug geschärft wurde.

Saw? Float? - Säge? Feile?

This saw looks like an usual dovetail saw in karelian masur birch. But is not usual. If you scroll down you see the kerf this saw leaves- 1.6 mm (about 1/16th"). It will saw cross mitre joints to leave slots for feathers. Looks like a saw, works like a float.

Diese Säge sieht aus, wie eine ganz normale Zinkensäge in karelischer Maserbirke, oder?
Sie ist aber anders. Wenn Du ganz nach unten scrollst, siehst du den Schnitt, den sie macht.
Das Blatt ist 1,6 mm stark und in die Kerbe sollen Federn, um Gehrungen zu verbinden.
